Actually, I believe the opposite. I think Extra makes this even better. it gives Takeru more of a reason to want to fight than just "Kill the aliens". There's three scenarios right now. Extra, Unlimited, and Alternative. When he goes home, he's going to Extra which is technically where he belongs. Unlimited was a timeline where alternative 5 happens. That's gone so in reality, there's nothing really go off of Unlimited anymore. So in reality, at this point in the story, there's only Extra and Alternative. Something is keeping him chained to Alternative to the point if he ever tries to break out and return to his home in Extra, he will never be allowed to have the life he created, so what we're seeing is the effects of him trying to leave the chain. It's not going to work so he needs to go back and break this "Chain" that's keeping him in alternative in order for him to return to his life in Extra. What is that "chain," you'll have to find out yourself.

People please be patient for the build up for the next episode. You wont regret. This is based on a visual novel and is super condensed. Despite that, it is necessary to do some world building and develop the character's struggles, turmoil and regain their resolve.

I have to give credits to this season, it's doing a decent job in adapting the PTSD arc so far, and this episode really shows that Sumika is indeed the true light at the end of the tunnel and the one responsible for Takeru to finally going back to the Unlimited world.

And this was the big push Takeru needed to go back, and him being a Causality Conductor and trying to discover why he became one will be the next goal of the story... and that's when shit will hit the fan once more, hopefully this season keeps delivering in what's going to happen next.
